Flite Test Bringing Remote Airplane Manufacturing to Stark County

Long-serving as a golfing venue, the Edgewater complex now is taking to the sky with another form of recreation.

Using the grounds of Edgewater Golf Course at 2401 Fox Ave. SE, entrepreneur Josh Bixler is entering his second season with Edgewater Air Park, which provides space for guests to operate remote-controlled aircraft.

Bixler is on the verge of taking another step and constructing a 6,240-square-foot facility on the grounds to manufacture his company’s product, foam board airplanes.

“What we will be doing is manufacturing these small model airplane kits that are sold all over the world,” Bixler said. “Hopefully, we will be breaking ground in a month or so.”
