Warm edge spacer systems are known to improve energy efficiency in buildings, but Edgetech I.G. cautions architects that not all warm edge spacers are created the same, or provide the same level of benefits. Edgetech’s TriSeal is specially engineered with a triple-seal design that includes desiccated silicone foam, acrylic adhesive and multi-layer vapor barrier for superior condensation resistance. The flexible foam construction also allows for the natural expansion and contraction of insulating glass caused by temperature changes, barometric pressure changes, wind loads and snow loads. Where a rigid metal might cause breaks in the seal from long-term stress, TriSeal is able to bounce back – providing a longer lasting seal and long-term energy saving benefits.

 

 “Because of TriSeal’s special no-metal design, seal failures are dramatically reduced or eliminated and noise is reduced up to two decibels over metal-based spacers,” Erb said. “In terms of efficiency, the unique triple-seal design can reduce energy consumption by up to 15 percent within curtain wall glazing systems,”

 

TriSeal is compatible with silicone structural sealant, as well as with other structural sealants.
