Lauren Manufacturing Receives 2005 Manny Award

Lauren Manufacturing Company, a division of Lauren International, received the 2005 MANNY Award for Top Growth in manufacturing from Inside Business Magazine and CAMP, Inc., a professional services organization helping manufacturing and technology-based companies for over 20 years.

The MANNY award is presented annually to companies in Northeast Ohio that exhibit outstanding manufacturing capabilities with innovative solutions to today’s manufacturing challenges. According to Inside Business Magazine, Lauren Manufacturing experienced growth at a time when other manufacturers sales were declining and some exiting the market place.

The 39 year old maker of molded and extruded polymer products such as gaskets and seals for cars, trucks, heavy equipment and many other markets was faced with increasing price pressure with more and more equipment manufacturers outsourcing to overseas suppliers. The company needed to come up with more efficient manufacturing processes to become cost competitive and serve customers with outstanding speed-to-market.

A focus on operational excellence paired with a dedicated attention to customer’s needs was the answer. “We produce what the customer wants when they want it,” say Lisa Huntsman, Vice President of Operations for Lauren. “It’s starting to change the old mass production mentality of the last 35 years.
