Wagging Tails Support Breast Cancer

New Philadelphia, Ohio – (September 1, 2009) More than 5,000 dogs and their owners gathered at the L’Oreal facility in Cranbury, N.J., August 15, to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Nurtured Pets helped sponsor the annual event. This is L’Oreal’s 6th annual “Because Your Dog Is Worth It Too” Day supporting Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure of Central and South Jersey.

“We had an excellent time exhibiting at this event,” said Josh Weirich, Marketing Specialist at Nurtured Pets. “We conducted our “Lick the Strip” program where we challenge consumers to test our Anti-Lick Strip product.” As you can imagine we received some great feedback as people tasted the active ingredients”, said Weirich. The event had a fun-filled schedule to keep spirits up and tails wagging all day. More than 50 rescues and non-profits attended. Special features included professional photography by Tom Aellis, dog grooming, dog adoption, and even microchipping for a small donation.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation works towards building morale, improving the lives of people affected by breast cancer, and most importantly, the cure. Women in Central and South Jersey combined forces to battle the disease, and they needed their favorite furry supporters by their sides. “Because Your Dog Is Worth It Too” Day and sponsors like Nurtured Pets, gave dogs a chance to show they care, just like their owners do for them.
